Alchemist + Painter
An eccentric, self-taught artist, Régent deeply embeds meaning, symbols, and emotions in his multi-layered artwork, an effort of his that has been praised by art critics in the U.S. and Europe. Régent has always colored outside the lines of conventional art currents and continues to defy any attempts of classification. Pellerin is French for Pilgrim, a word that well defines Régent’s life-long journey with art… It has been his camino—his way—of connecting to himself and to others, as well as his expression and devotion to the greater world.
Régent’s artwork offers an unfolding experience of discovery and connection. Whether he is painting, gluing, stitching, burning, chiseling, or erasing, every action leads to therapeutic transformation, reconstruction and reconnection.
For decades, Régent exhibited in Los Angeles, Chicago, Brussels, and Paris. He now resides on the remote island of Orcas, and is known as an alchemist, constantly experimenting with resurrected materials, eclectic mediums, and quixotic tools to create his signature series.
